I have invested quite heavily in Detroit this year and also for a lot of my clients here in the UK and Europe. The market is still in disarrear and it feels like everyone is relearning everything again. It is a fierce market to work in and most foreclosures (good ones anyway) will always sell for more than the asking price. The local government has gotten wind of the amount of foreign investment coming into the city to buy and as such there is a lot of red tape to cut through at the buyers expense.
however, it is a fantastic market to buy in with loads of opportunity, but it is also so easy to get it wrong.
