    Re: Cyprus, social housing investment

North Cyprus is an occupied country and has been since 1974 when the Turks invaded.   You have obviously not heard of the recent court case where a British couple - despite being represented by Cherie Blair QC - lost, and have been forced to demolish their million pound house and return the land to the rightful owner, a Greek Cypriot.   This has large warning bells clanging for anyone who has invested in North Cyprus because it is a landmark case and is an indication of the way the European courts will treat this thorny matter in teh future.  Anyone who has been silly enough to invest in North Cyprus will not be able to prove ownership of the land and therefore cannot say that they own a property there.  A totally speculative and exceedingly high risk investment bearing in mind the above, and the fact that there is virtually no infrastructure in the North.  Only for those who are happy to flush their money down the toilet.

    Re: Cyprus, social housing investment

Ah, my favourite topic, 'The Cyprus Problem'. Way back in `95 I wandered over the Green Line to see for myself what the problem was and eventually reached Kyrenia where I stopped for a coffee in an almost identical coffee house to those in Paphos or anywhere south of border. The proverbial bearded old men sat there enjoying the afternoon sun and when I asked if I could join them, they welcomed me with genuine Turkish delight. After introducing myself I asked. 'what do you think about the Cyprus Problem?' A silence flowed for a second or three, then one of the old men smiled and said wryly, 'we solved that in `74'
    Wonderful answer I thought.
My heart goes out to the Orams who lost their case and I for one cannot understand when the aggressive south of the island wants to take the land away from the passive north but did`nt have their battle plan all that well laid out. The north called in big brother Mainland Turkey who were there in five minutes and ousted the Cypriots sending them packing, save 1611 who never made it back. The Cyps went on to confiscate all Turkish land south of the border, keeping it safe they say for their brothers return one day but still building and selling on it to this day. The new landowners in the north threw out the marauding local Cyps and sent them south keeping their land as the south had done as spoils of war and we all know the story thereafter.
However, times they are a changing. It has been decreed and agreed that any settlement for land will be at pre `74 prices which when compared with today's price per donum is peanuts. One fact is clear, all land is owned by someone or the state own it.If the north and south do get back together there will be no fighting over this project as its to be built legally.Thereby satisfying all owners demands before they start.
If you would like to see the offer send me an email info@opipt.com preferably with the thought of investing than having a political discussion.

Don't you people have any shame? Have you not seen, heard the latest ECJ ruling on property ownership in the illegally held north of Cyprus.

What are you asking people do, buy stolen goods from desperate people who previously bought them trying to get out.

Come on, there must sure be some code of ethics when it comes to selling goods, stolen at that.

Buying property in northen Cyprus is legally and politacally unsafe and you stand to lose your money. You can be chased EU wide for ANY assests to recover any judgements against you. Now, do you want to buy there?

Do you want to sell there?

    Jesusssss!

Utter crap, and you know it, this is typical talk from theiving carpet baggers trying to justify their illgotten gains.

You need to research the history instead of talking out of an end normally reserved for another purpose mate, you are full of it.

YOU ARE SELLING STOLEN GOODS AND YOU ARE TOUTING FOR BUSINESS TO STITCH UP POSIBLE INVESTORS.

Thes are not my words but those of the ECJ. Any idiot who buys there now after sucha ruling desrves everything he gets.

FYI, there is no such thing as exchange land, the land in the south is under the guardianship of the RoC, any TC can claim his land by residing in the RoC for 6 months, No GC can do tthe same, me included.

So the bulshit you spew here is typical of a con man trying to entice unsuspecting investors to lose their money.

    You fatherless sod.

Pany, everyone knows what land is legal and what land is under dispute. I assume you are an aggrieved northern landowner living in the south and I appreciate your comments but lets not make this another aggressive discussion 'north v South'

If you would like to venture further into who`s selling what in this offer, drop me a line on info@opipt.com then maybe take it up with them

Hellooooooooooooo, do we have a moderator here? This page is about property, not about long dead aggrievances and losers. However, moving on, there are some great buys in the south most of which are built by developers who are having a problem giving you the deeds, even when you have paid cash. No doubt Pany knows `em all.

Ha Ha nice try, but totally childish!

The title deed situation will change in time and be dealt with legally by the internatonally recognised government, unlike what you are trying to do. Stolen is Stolen and there is no court in the world that will justify it.

Yes you are correct, this is not about north and south issues, but I am warning innocent people from losing their investmernts by being misled by people like you and leading them into dangerous territory.

Why don't you just stay legal and do your business??? Or is the thought of a quick buck at someone elses expense thrilling to you?

Oh and yes, we should have some moderation here, being allowed to advertise stolen property should not be allowed. In fact, after the ECJ ruling, I guess any party involved in the movement of such could be sued for damages, so Singing Pig may need to review its policies on such matters. Just a thought.

    Have a nice day.
