 Hi all

I was thinking of buying a buy to let property in the Essex area but i was just wondering where all you piggies down south thought the best area regarding rental income and prices were the best to buy. Also i was going to hold on a while to maybe after Christmas when i personally think prices will come down a bit more but would like anybodys opion on this.

Living in the E Midlands I don't know about Essex but I would suggest holding off for two or three years. In terms of the economy we're only just seeing the first effects of the credit crunch and price hikes. As these effects work through they will destroy many companies profits and we are going to see a big rise in unemployment. This will give a further push to to decline in house prices. Yes, there'll be a time to buy and it will be when there's so much doom and gloom on the news you think the world is about to end.

Nobody knows what's going to happen next! All they can hazard is a guess based on what's happened in the past, and most people get this wrong all the time. Even the experts cannot predict the market's future with such 100% certainty.
