i did say i would keep a few folks updated with regards my planning permission attempt and Trevor's (Land Planning Associates) appeal against multiple refusal's on my proposed site

wel, after my 3 attempts, then a fourth attempt taken with the advice of Trevor (knowing it also was likely to fail and have to go to appeal) and then Trevor going to appeal has finally succeeded. The written representation from Trevor really was something to read (and frankly quite amusing)

i now have planning permission to build a pair of modest semidetached houses on former garden space at a house i own

i am very happy with the service from LPA and the end result, and my sincerest personal gratitude to Trevor for his achievement

i am most disappointed with the obstructive planning authority who clearly stepped well beyond their remit and frankly acted in a deity like way in their treatment of this case over a total of 3 years and obviously cost me more because of their attitude, it was a saga, but then i just handed the papers to Trevor December 2007 and he took it from there

this plot will go on sale for £105,000 to accept the first sensible offer over £90,000, here is to many more sites...

But your site was in the Downham Market area. That is 6 successful plots via appeals in the Downham Market area 'on the trot' for us. And members may remember our several previous successes in that area, which prompted me to ask sardonically "Do all Singing Pig members live in bloody Downham Market ???"

I would like to think that Kings Lynn and West Norfolk District Council might be a bit more careful about issuing future planning refusals in the Downhwam Market area.

 More lightheartedly, and in the spirit of Cpl Jones .... "They don't like it up 'em !"

P.S. An hilarious part of Rik's appeal was that one family of vociferous local objectors, presumably thinking they would - in the words of the Good Book - "be heard for their much speaking", sent in multiple objection letters every time the opportunity arose.

I took great delight in pointing out with mock astonishment in the Grounds of Appeal and other documents that every member of this particular family had absolutely identical handwriting ... and that not only could none of them spell correctly to save their lives, but they all spelled the SAME words wrong  !
