    tax relief question on remortage

hi I'm hoping someone can help me here. I remortgaged my rental property last year to another lender and in doing so, I incurred solicitors costs & survey costs etc. I know I cannot claim these back from the time I initially bought the property (I beleive they are added onto the purchase price at the time of selling to reduce CGT) but I don't know if I can claim against this second set of costs? Can anyone offer me an answer please?

     thanks in advance

I believe legal costs and refinancing costs including the survey etc. are income tax deductibles and must be added to your annual tax return, not CGT.

Yes I agree - financing costs and legal costs incurred once the property is owned (and has been rented out) are income deductable on your self assessment form.
