Singing Pig

I have an original painting that was left to me and I am having difficulty in getting it identified. I must admit I have only tried a few online dealers / auction houses. Are there any kind Sp's that would take a look and offer any advise?

why not take it to your nearest auctoin house - they will look at it for free and possibly give you a valuation.   is there any sign of a signature or initials ?

I am a lazy little so and so and also pretty busy with work most of the time. Contradiction?

Much easier to find a friendly person on the web and e mail a picture of the painting.

 

However, you are probably correct and I need to go out and pay Uncle Ken another eight quid for the pleasure of driving into this great city.

Try Southerby's, I emailed them a photo of a table I had for sale once, they sent someone down we agreed a reserve and they picked it up, very painless and they got me a fantastic price!

Cheers Kev. When I first looked at them (some time ago) they wanted a written submisson and up to six weeks. They seem to have changed their web site and now have the abillity to e mail them.

what a great service !  what sort of frame is it in ?  that also can sometimes tell an art expert something about the age of a painting   - so i would photograph the back as well - do let us know how you get on ?
