Did you know that if you are an existing customer you can open a 'WebSaver' account that pays 5.65% as opposed to 4.75% on it's original savings account ?. The only difference in T's & C's is that all trandactions on the new account must be via the web site, you can't telephone them. Big Deal !. I've never 'phoned them. They kept this one quiet, so a big thank you to my sister for pointing this out. (and I'm supposed to be the financially aware one - doh !).

5.65% can be easily beaten by quite a few other banks. heres a list from MSE of the current best buys

 

Barclays also have a 6.5% ISA which must be worth looking at

The other accounts you refer to have limitations i.e. A & L has a minimum of £5K and a Max of £100K, HSBC pays no interest on the entire balance for any month in which you make a withdrawal, and Scarborough BS includes an introductory bonus. ISA allowances i.e, £3K until next year, are so small as to be almost insignificant. ING Websave has no limits and doesn't penalise withdrawals, so it suits my circumstances.

 

I concur these other accounts may be suitable for some, but I was simply informing those who weren't aware that ING have kept rather quiet about this. I already had an account with them but wasn't aware of the better rate available.
