Just thought I would give you all a warning - DO NOT try to sell Paul
McKenna items on ebay - as he will get them removed, and if you do it
again, will try and get you suspended and/or banned from ebay.
I'm not talking about copies/counterfeits here, I am talking about
selling the genuine item. Ebay have a system called "VeRO"
(Verified Rights Ownership) which the owner of the material (i.e Paul
McKenna) has the right to complain and have removed anyone selling
copies. However, it does not mean that he or anyone else can
complain about genuine items, that have been purchased and then are on
ebay for re-sale.
However, Paul IS complaining about genuine items being sold (in fact,
HE is breaking the rules of VeRO, the very rules that he uses to get
items removed). His agent does a search for Paul McKenna in the ebay
search engines, and gets EVERYTHING removed.
He is even trying to take people to court for selling his items on ebay.
I came across this by listing a few CD's that I had purchased, used and
did not want any more. My items were immediately removed, and my
bidders (3 of them) were all sent an email saying that they had been
removed because they were counterfeit items.
By doing this Paul has damaged my reputation as an ebay seller. I
am very angry, and considering taking legal action against him and his
managment company. This would of course also implicate ebay, as they do
not take the time to check wheether an item being sold is genuine or
not, before they remove it at the request of a VeRO member.
Havin checked on the Ebay community, I find that I am not the only
one! Other people have had genuine Paul McKenna items removed too.
I will repost once this has been resolved, but I thought I ought to warn you about what is going on.
One more thing - I used to like Paul McKenna - I absolutely abhore him
now, and would quite happily give his stuff away at a car boot sale (I
wonder if he would appear at my side, and tell me I can't do that
either!). His reputation with me is in tatters. I will NEVER
purchase any of his material every again.
