clottie:wiganer """My problem is that I've been too trustworthy in the past, and expected
people to act with the same integrity and ethics that I have.""
i think that is a great asset you have - trusting folks - i do that - sometimes too much - but i would rather help someone whose story "seems" a bit odd and be conned than never help anyone ever again - I'm sure the same applies to you
It's nice - and very flattering - that you think that, but I'm not on about tenants and landlords, or those who spin you a line so that you feel sorry for them. I'm on about investors in my business, business partners, potential business partners, corporate clients, and people who, in hindsight, have just assumed that they can f*ck me over. Those who promise the earth, basically. And why not - I was young, naive, trusting and had (and still have) good ideas.
Sorry to be so blunt, and sorry to use foul language, but seriously Clottie, I've had it all over the last two or three years. If you want more details, feel free to PM me. Obviously, I'm not going into it on a public forum.
But - as I said before - you live and learn. Bad experiences shouldn't put you off - they should strengthen you. I'm only 32 and I'm convinced that I've made most - not all - of my mistakes in my 20s. I hope my experience will pay dividends in my 30s.
