Hi, I run a Lettings Agency in Cambridge: www.lettingsmatch.com (might as well get my free plug, they do it on Radio 5 all the time).  I decided to give email marketing a go.

After trawling the net, I came accross www.livewirecampaign.co.uk

LiveWire Campaign gives you access to free email marketing and free email advertising to your clients and customers.

Basically there is no setup charge or monthly commitment.  As far as I understand, the first 50 emails you send every month is free.  So you can sign up now, create a email campaign or newsletter and email it off to your contacts or yourself as a test.

Plus they give you the facility to use templates, monitor emails you sent, how many people read it etc....

All in all, I was happy and thought I would share it with you.  I also discovered a great way to find details of prospective Landlords, so my list of 0 has turned to almost 150 email addresses overnight.

 Or you could automate your marketing campaign using www.aweber.com .

You can create unlimited lists and run a campaign per list....all for $20 per month.

They say it takes on average "8 Touches" before someone will buy from you, so why not automate this process instead of trying to remember which client has had which email.

Look up sendstudio on google, its a brilliant software costs about £200 but one you have it its yours. Best part is you can measure all of the traffic and it will filter automatically

Here is an even better solution ( and its free). Set your web sites up with Joomla CMS systems. Joomla is open source software which allows you to set up free web sites and add all kinds of funky functionality and the large part of it is free to use and can be downloaded directly. There are many developers who make free software for the Joomla platform. Its a great way to have full admin control over your web sites too. Even the paid for software is very low price and can be better than the more expensive versions in many cases.

Thanks for that. We are currently setting our email newsletter using PhPlist which is also worth having a look at. We're also trying to convert our static site to Joomla so we'll see with the progress :)

Ive used PHP list, and to my reckoning its OK but not that great. A bit limited on features and crash prone.Save yourself the time and effort.

If you are looking for a great email client for Joomla the best one by far is Acajoom. Ive been using it for over a year and it works like a dream. I got the all singing dancing version-cost about £40 ( one off payment) but worth every penny.We tested loads of different ones with Joomla and Acajoom is way better than all the rest, with loads of great professional features.There is a free version too. If you would like me to send you a copy of one of the emails I send out for my club meetings so you can see what it can do=be happy to do that.  Its never crashed or frozen once in all the time Ive used it.

By the way if you are looking for any kind of payment taking software for Joomla Virtue Mart is the best-and completely free. ( My favorite 4 letter word!!) And, no, Im not an affilliate for either of these if anyone was wondering!

By the way-Aweber-not great in my opinion and quite expensive for what it does.
