Im new to affiliate marketing. I know this has probably been answered a gazillion times but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any free material on selecting/choosing a product to sell (as an affiliate). ie. info products,electronic goods,protein bars,cars etc etc. Also possibly material on what affiliate program to register with. ie. clickbank,affiliatewindow etc

Finding a product that you want to promote - it is generally a good idea to choose something that you are interested in.  This means that you already have a good idea about your niche and will be able to generate enough content to create a well presented and content rich website.  After deciding on a few niches that you think you could work with you need to find an affiliate network, affiliate networks offer different products and incentives.  Choosing the right one can be personal preference and what you are looking for from your affiliate program.  Research - look on the internet and find the right one for you.

The recommendation by Carl is spot on.  I have read just about all the books in the range and although they can be a bit long winded at times, they are great reads.

I have been into affiliate marketing now and making money online for about 18 months.  I have learnt huge amounts and the advice given earlier about doing something you are interested in is sound advice. 

You might also want to check out the following website. http://www.johncow.com  there is some excellent advice and the free ebook is fantastic to get you started, if you wanted to start a blog. 

 There are loads more resources I could tell you about and more advice I could give, but I won't bore you with it now.  But if you need anymore help, just post here.
