Your Ideas Please on the best way of Marketing this Product Online.

    Hi Everybody,

Would really appreciate constructive comments on how to maximize the online marketing for this new website, we have launched the World's first ever integrated el4 flashing England T-Shirt.

We have had some great feedback so far from people that have purchased, everybody seems to think it's a winner but we now need to get this out to the masses.

Apart from the Football Fans sites any serious suggestions.

    Our video is

Ah a flashing England shirt intresting, i wouldn't be able to buy one sadly as im based up in Scotland at the moment and it doesn't go down to well sadly (Learnt that the hard way two years ago). But its's good to see a new product supporting the team. Lets just hope it does the trick and wins the world cup for us. Anyway on with your question.

Ok apart from England supporter sites there are many options. The first most obvious one would be Pay per click on the major search engines ie google, yahoo, ask ect. You could also sell them on ebay and similar sites. If you have a list of the england supporter sites you could contact them and ask if they had a mailing list, if they do you could rent, borrow or buy it and market to the people on it who are you target audience. All England football related sites that have mailing list would be extremly useful. Another avenue would be young football fans they are most likely  to pester there parents for it especially if it becomes a trend.

I would keep your advertising very target otherwise your just going to waste time and money.

    Hope this helps

    Steven

    big subject,

it seems a fad item for the world cup so you ain't got long..

publicity, go to a marketing firm that can get you on the telly etc etc, send samples to magazine and paper editors for the mens magazines (every single one that is your target demographic) etc etc one may want to feature it, you have got to be quick though. they will like a nationalistic fad item for the world cup, buy their May/June issues will already be taking shape

approach the other t shirt seeling firms (look in the back of VIZ) and try and supply them wholesale, its probably too late for them to copy your product, they already have online  market presence, less profit but then less costs too (no website or ads or distribution issues for you)

good luck, good idea not my cup of tea though

Agreeing with everyone else that this is a fad product, the marketing has to be done before/during the World Cup.  In that case advertising on pre-existing sites/google adwords and purchasing mailing lists would be your best bet.

Also, try and make a big bang with your advertising. Since it is a fad, you have to try and make it one that will catch. So if england fans start seeing your ads on all the soccer sites they visit, you've got a good chance of it catching.

    *************

On the other hand, since you have the "flashing technology" you would definetly be planing to design more t-shirts like these i suppose. For that you need to develop more long term adverising plans.. That would include SEO for your own site, link exchanges with similar site, developing your own mailing lists. But make sure you don't confuse the 2 advertising campaigns.

For the England T-shirt you need quick fast advertising, for the website ( and flashing tshirt business) you need more long term based advertising.

    Just wondering...

Why haven't you developed t-shirts for the other countries too? I would say you were loosing out on a possible market there....

When marketing a product - there is always a boundry that is pushed where the reality is stretched. Firstly be careful when marketing yourself as the "World's first ever integrated el4 flashing England T-Shirt"

EL has been around since the 1940s when it was 1st developed by DuPont - and I have seen a great many companies offering it on T-shirts, caps, signs etc etc for the last 15 years. All produced in China with the exception of a german company who manufacture in Europe.

In short - you may get found out.

In terms of pricing I think you are charging too little for what is a high percieved value. It is technology after all. - I would make it a £39.99 product

Suggestions above have mentioned ways to attract visitors (PPC etc). I would also look at optimising the website.

Upon first visit I couldn't tell what the product was until after a few clicks.

The web copy could do with smartening up, perhaps a more blatant drop close...

    Just my two penneth worth!
