Spot on lawless.. in laymans terms its all about getting events that need our concious mind transferred over to our subconcious mind (so they effectively run on auto-pilot). If anyone can think back to their first time in a car learning to drive, having to remember which pedal to press, where the gear-lever was, having to look in the mirror etc. Once you've got plenty of experience you carry out almost all of those functions automatically as they are programmed into the sub-concious mind. Although people probably wont admit to it, most drivers have at some time or another experienced an instance where they realise they haven't been concentrating at all for the past couple of minutes (as their mind is elsewhere) the sub-concious has been handling the driving!..scary..
So the theory is if you keep convincing yourself you're the best thing since sliced bread then eventually it ought to get into your sub-concious mind. Problem is we have a thing called doubt that often gets in the way.
Hypnotism uses these tricks. I remember Paul McKenna explaining it as "think of an instance where you can't find your car keys, yet you know you had them a minute ago..there's a type of disconnection in the brain and I put a suggestion into the void where your car keys should be!"
I understand what he means..but how do they do that?!!! GB
