    Remax

    Hi Guys

Currently working as Mortgage broker as well as doing some bmv marketing as well.

Have been given the opportunity to train as a Sales advisor for remax by the principal of my mortgage firm who has just recently taken up a franchise.

It seems like a win win situation for me as there seems to be alot of  mutual skills and synergy between these areas.

Anyone any experience of the company

    cheers

    Paul

    Re: Remax

    Hi Paul,

Limited knowledge, but I do know a little.

They're from the USA and big in Scotland.  I've been surprised not to see them much South of the border.

One of my brokers in Glasgow gets quite a few leads from a Remax branch.  It also looks like they've done a deal with Home of Choice (network) to put mortgage advisers in their branches, although the deal my broker told me about wasn't too generous to the broker, with quite a big kick going to the Remax outlet and Home of Choice.

A guy who I used to work with went for a job with them but turned it down as he wasn't happy with their approach to getting mortgages through.  I don't really want to say any more about that on a forum like this, but feel free to call me to talk about it.  I'm going away on Sunday morning, but I'm around all day on Saturday.

    Re: Remax

In my area, they shift plenty houses.

They seem much more motivated than all the other estate agents/solicitors.

As soon as a house goes up for sale, they leaflet the area .When it sells, they leaflet the area.Plus their boards have stickers on like "too late its gone" and "sold another one" plus the name and photo of the agent dealing with the sale.

    Re: Remax

Asked for information three days ago. Heard nothing since other than a message saying they had recieved my request (via email the same day). Maybe they don't want any more in Kent??

    Des,

How did you get on with the meeting?

    Re: Remax

Hmmmm, I too have been browsing the multiple Remax websites - quite taken with the idea of being a Sales Associate. They have a small office in a town not too far away, and two other offices in larger cities nearby. The offices in the larger cities do not appear to have many properties for sale - considering the size of the population!

But perhaps this is due to lack of effort by those involved? Have seen Remax abroad, but must say that they do not seem very well known in England (not my bit at least).

Will be very interested to hear how you both get on.

    Yalan.

    Re: Remax

    Hi all

I was an associate with remax (scotland) and found it an interesting experiance.

Basically the office owner will flood the office with associates all paying good fees to be their approx £1000 per month whether you list property or not .

At this level as you would expect a very high turnover of staff, i also found a distinct lack of support from head office

    My advice tread carfully

Century 21 is another franchise of a similar nature but has cheaper fees

    Re: Remax

    Hi propertyman

I'm trying to figure out the fundamental difference in approach that remax have to traditional EA's.

They dont seam to be bothered about high st locations, which is a pre-requisite for traditional EA's.

How do they generate instructions locally if they dont have the locally known agent with a local retail presence?

Are all sales associates on a sales only commission or are they paid a basic wage?

You say a "distinct lack of support from head office".In what respect?

How does the office owner generate income? purely on % of sales associates income?

Why is remax bigger in Scotland than England? Is anything to do with the differences in the sales process between the 2 countries?

sorry for rambling a bit. bit of a stream of conciousness.

meeting with remax next week and not sure about it at all

    cheers

    des
