Apparently, Mr Jimenez, the tourism minister was blocking the CONFOTOUR. Now the election is over, the President has been able to get rid of him and should grant CONFOTOUR without further delay. 

Mr...Jonh_r         Your post is very interesting, info like this seems like the inside scoop. Do you have more? I'd really like to hear and see something along the lines like; WORK AT PUNTA PERLA STARTS FULL THROTTLE, the 3000+ workers that have been on standby for almost 2 yrs now are tearing into this with such tennasity, it could meet the Promissed (key exchange) deadlines we were "promissed" after 33 months!!  This would be as good as,,, as,,, getting a letter from the Developer stating WORK" WILL START " ON Aug. first!! I Promise...keep "us" up to date with more positive news...   This bit of news is something that if the Developer knew, should of been brought to ALL of our attention, as soon as it was apparent, as I've been promissed Confotour (any time now) 3 times in 2 yrs. Simply keeping me informed with Any News is better than leaving me to speculating as to the reasons, why again does another deadline pass unmet, why are all these projects that are/should be completed not even built? At this stage of the game, I am wanting More that empty words, it is time to build my unit...PROOF...give me PROOF !!!  or else !!!

I don't expect an official announcement when the developer is still reliant on government approval. I agree that the proof will in the pudding a month or so down the line. CONFOTOUR is pretty much essential as the import taxes are about 66% on all materials and equipment.

Hello John_r. Can you please let me know where and when you got this information? I get the updates but was not aware of this.

So what is really going on here?  We all like to blame the developer for their lack of communciation, but what can they really do? 

Its obvious that the problem is CONFOTUR, right?  And what exactly is the problem?  Is it that our developer has no clue how to get it, or is it that someone high up in the DR government is blocking the way?  Or both?

But, they do own the land, right?  And, it has appreciated nicely, right?

And, what does the developer really make without the 70% due on completion?  The value of the property certainly must be more than the 30% that we put down, right?

Does anyone know anything?
