    Re: R2I

We am new to this site and joined to connect with the R2i threads. We invested in Turre Los Cerros Site and are very frustrated by the continuing problems and prospects of recovering our money

We are also angry that having approached the Spanish Lawyers Lawbird - who via R2i took half their fees up front on behalf of the legals for the purchasers - they have refused to repay these monies, even thought the properties have never been built.

If possible we wish to get a list of Turre investors to approach the Spanish Bar Association (Lawyers professional Body) to make a complaint, pursuant of recovery at least of people's legal fees.

Please respond a.s.a.p so we can get things underway

    Many thanks

    Re: R2I

Well, good luck with that.  We invested in two properties with R2I, both of which should have been completed now, neither of which are actually going anywhere.  £5000 in R2I's back pocket + lawyers fees, etc etc.  Not involved in Mojacar, but lawyers fees are the least of our problems.  Our solicitor in Portugal (recommended by R2I) totally refuses to speak to us!

    Re: R2I

not involved in Spain either, but we have a Turkish apartment that is 2 1/2 years late and going nowhere. Our Solicitor, recommended by R21,  doesnt update us, however does however fly back and forward to UK to visit R2i, who  deny any responsibility for the problems, deny they have any obligation to help and also refuse to give us updates. Problems happen, I appreciate that, but either they help us to complete or they butt out and let us deal with our lawyer..

Google International Property Law.  They are a firm of UK based solicitors regulated by the Law Society who specialise in overseas conveyancing and increasingly deal with overseas property contract disputes.

Please mention our company Overseas Mortgage Broker Ltd when you call.

kevin do you hate everyone on this board or something!

You do know that this is the same lawyer that helped people to buy into punta perla, and took big fees for doing so, then he has been on this very site asking for people for another £300 so he can go and help them find out what is going wrong!

Him and John Howell are.... well no need to say as I don't want to get the site in any bother.

One of my fave lines from a movie. the film was bee movie.

Bascially all animlas and insects can talk, and a cow went to see a hot shot bee lawyer with a problem. Cow didn't undertsand so said can I bring in my lawyer. Lawyer says yes.

Bee then says to the mosquito, they are old friends.

"Marty, I didnt know you were a lwayer"

Marty replies " well I have always been a bloodsucking parasite and now I have the briefcase to prove it".

    Re: R2I

    Hi Paul

No I wasn't aware of that however if people have had a problem with any lawyer who is regulated by the Law Society then they are able to make a complaint to the Law Society and their complaint would be investigated.

The most important aspect when buying a property overseas which I hope we can both agree on is due diligence and research.  The reason I suggested that people contact a UK solicitor is because of the redress that the Law Society offers as opposed to using a lawyer who is linked to a development.

    kevin

Whilst I completely agree I would look up the reputation of the lawyer of who you are advising people to use when on the biggest thread on this site the one you are saying on another development gets slated.

If you arent careful then advisign people to use someone like that will harm your reputation.

I find it amazing that there arent many that do recomend good lawyers, they all seem to have their little quirks shall we say and they are meant to be the good guys, as you say!!
