Members may recall our recent successful support and appeal guidance via this forum to the guy who was told by some hard-hearted and Stalinist Planning Enforcement basta ... erm, I mean Officer ... that he had to get rid of 2 of his 5 pet dogs - or else - and served him with an Enforcement Notice to that effect.
He won the subsequent appeal, though I was a bit disappointed that he claimed he couldn't afford to pay us to deal with it for him, but was nevertheless willing and able to pay probably 5 times as much to move house in order to keep all 5 of his dogs.
(Sometimes you feel that your good nature may be being taken advantage of.)
Anyway, a similar case in the St Edmundsbury area of Suffolk recently went to the High Court after the Planning Inspectorate dismissed an appeal against St. Edmundsbury's enforcement action.
The lady concerned didn't have a mere 5 huskies - she had NINETEEN ! ! ! She used them in a sledding hobby, and the High Court upheld her right to keep them.
So much for a mere 5 dogs being "over the top" then, eh ?
Do I hear any advance on 19 dogs ? ? ? ?? ?
