Serving s21 when Rent Day has changed?

Not sure if anyone has seen/experienced this before?

I have a tenant whose initial rent day was the 9th of the month, but who later changed their rent day to the 25th of the month (and paid the difference between the two dates).  So, they pay their rent on the 25th of the month, but their original AST (they are now on a periodic tenancy) is dated 9th of the month.

So, when serving the s21 tomorrow .... does the s21 expire on 8th September (assuming their next rent day is the 9th of the month and their next rent day being 9th July), or on 24th August (assuming their next rent day is 25th June)?

I would have thought that because they have paid to move their rent day forward, that their new rent day is the 25th of the month, not the 9th any longer?  Hence if I serve the s21 tomorrow it will expire on 24th August?

    Anyone know?!

    Cheers
