    RE: Ebay as a business

I make £55.000 a year on ebay for about 4 hours work a day and have done for the last 4 years and the reason i only make £55.000 is because i want to stay under the VAT limit.
If i treated it as a full time job god knows what i could earn.

Hi, people, EBay is just a way of advertising, whether you make money or how much you make depends on what you buy/sell, and more importantly the quality and price for which you Buy it For. The secret of every business is having good contacts and buying cheap (Price wise). I have been selling on EBAY for a few years now and find it very good. Nothing like working from Home in your PJs.

Can the Inland Revenue trace you from Ebay or do you have to declare any income? There have been articles recently in the money pages saying income from it must be declared which suggests that the IR cannot track you themselves.

    Re: Ebay as a business

Hi Faz,  I used to make a living from ebay.  I built up a business on there from nothing over about 3 months in my spare time until I felt I could replace my income from my day job.

I only worked about 6 hours a day eventually but I didn't like the solitude of working from my box room at home.

A friend of mine is still a full time ebayer selling much the same as I was and is earning about £70k per year after tax without having to get hired help.

You can easily find out which products are popular an have good profit margins.  Use pulse on ebays home page and tick the completed listing box when searching to see how many items of a kind are selling per day and the achieved price.

    Best of luck.
