I dont see why details are required since I am only asking for references for Turkish property law i.e. urls or companies.
However, I dont see that adding details will cause any harm.
Usual nightmare story.
Sold an overpriced property. Construction was behind schedule. Once completed took 6 months to sort out the mortgage due to changes in Turk law and the terrible Capital Financial Partners system.
Railroaded into purchasing an extortionate furniture package in order to comply with MRI rental department. MRI rental department is now closed so no need for the ridiculous furniture pack. I am trying to get a refund for this. I know exchange rates have changed a lot but at todays rate we paid £15k sterling to furnish a 2 bed apartment. I have an aunt who has just furnished a 2 bed in Turkey for £5k. Were sold the furniture package 18 months ago on the surmise that if we didn't do it there and then we would slip down the list for rentals even though 18 months on we have not completed yet.
Mortgage was exchange in December when POA was sent over. For some reason exchange of deeds was not attempted until the beginning of this month when it was found that our POA had been stolen from the deeds office. So basically mortgage was finalised and sent in December.
2 months down the line we dont officially own the property. Snagging has not been completed and if I don't get the POA done within a month the deed process is cancelled. Add to this the fact I am out of the country until next month anyhow and I now posess a different passport to the one used in the original POA and you get an idea of some of the issues.
Had another scan through the contract and although I am not trained to read into things certain points make it clear why the developer is willing to pay the costs to get the POA done again quickly even though its not technically their fault it was stolen. Contract mentions exchange of deeds is required within a set time frame upon completion which has not been met. Hence the reason why I want to get professional legal advice on our contract.
If anyone can recommend any Turkish property law firms please let me know.
