    RE: Darren Winters

Just grabbed a few books off my bookshelf which you may find useful and save you a few bob:

"Technical Analysis Explained" Martin J Pring fantastic "Bible"

"The Way to Trade" John Piper, He's a Brit, heard him speak for an hour, excellent.

And a cracker, "Trading for a Living" Dr Alexander Elder. Also covers the psychological bit. This is a book that I often re-read.

With TA, I do know some people prefer the structure of a seminar. I do not and have always preferred to teach myself. I must admit, I haven't heard much of Darren Winters - his books, if he has any, are not on the standard recommended lists.

Anyone serious about TA should look at the Society of Technical Analysts at

    http://www.sta-uk.org

Give them a call and ask what they think of the seminar/or what they offer as alternative.

    Shop around and best wishes.

This will give you a good insight into Darren Winters http://money.guardian.co.uk/print/0,3858,4500417-110138,00.html

A clone of Chris Manning, perhaps?

Definitely one to avoid in my opinion.

    Hi Paul,

I just read your post and I wanted to show you something I found the other day on Darren Winters ... click on this link:

I looked into his free seminars but after reading this article, I have begun to think its more than likely an elaborate scam...see what you think before asking others to commit matbe?

    Hi Grumboo,

This may be 4 years late but I have to tell you what I know....darren seems to me to be a complete fake and a good scam artist. He teaches the same strategies as found in books, they aren't his own secrets! You can find all the same information in Waterstones financial dept! Please, please read this article on Darren that I found, it will make you think twice before going on his seminars, unless you allready have been on them in which case, how did you find it? Read this:

    Re: RE: Darren Winters

I, unfortunately, have heard of Darren Winters...I believe the only books he has published on investing have been the free ones he gives out at his seminars, you won't find them on reccommended reading lists because no-one would dare recommend a scam artist like him. Do you know anyone who has been scammed by Darren? I do and let me tell you, they lost a lot more than the course fee..... I found this article about Darrens seminars while researching him after finding out about his 'free' courses..

    www.zanet.co.uk/tradertom/documents/Winterswonderland.pdf

Spread the word, Darren is a fake.
