    Re: Serving Notice on Tenant

as far as i am aware, once a correct Section 21 is issued, its efficacy is indefinite.

generally speaking the local authority will not rehouse someone if they are not in immediate danger of being evicted - the only proof of that is a possession order from the courts  -

i think you will have a long wait if you expect the tenant to pay for their own eviction  - there is no incentive whatsoever for them to do so ......

Ah, but the incentive for this one is - she WANTS a council/housing association  flat of her own, and a bigger one at that. She’s currently in a one bed flat with an infant daughter, and she’s told me she would prefer a two-bed place. (I’ve always suspected her partner lives with them, which she strongly denies.) No wonder she wants a bigger place.

Although I’ve served her the notice, I am in no hurry myself. That’s why I wanted to make sure that when I am really ready and needing possession of my property the s21 notice would still be valid. Until then I’d rather she stewed in her own juice. She’s one of those young mothers who think having a baby at an early age (16 – 18) is a ticket to an easy life.

Aldric - you;d best make sure she keeps her mouth shut if she is paying for her own court costs !!!  else "Collusion" could be construed by the local authority  !!!

It may not come to that. However, I’ll bear that in mind. Thanks
