    Leon McAvoy:
MRI sold me an apartment at the back of Lamezia airport Calabria Italy. If anyone else has bought into this please contact me ASAP leon.mcavoy@gmail.com I may be able to help you as I am based here ( Italy ) or at least give you the answers you have been asking for.

They have closed thier office in Italy and left a lot of people here asking what's going on and where's the money gone, and by the way there is no after sale service it's designed to sell you over priced furniture that infact they also do not supply.

I wouldn't consider buying too much through MRI without reading these first - http://overseascafe.blogspot.com/search/label/MRI%20Overseas%20Property

I am in the process of taking mri and associate's to court and because of this I am unable to say very much at this point, however I do not seem to be the only person in this boat as a number of people have contacted me about their problems and not just in Italy. I am in the unfortunate position to have not only bought property through this company but I was also any employee for the last two years. Once we have one in court I will take this story in full to the media. If anyone out there is having problems feel free to contact me for info here, as there is strength in numbers, or leon.mcavoy@gmail.com

If they try to make you take a mortgage out through Capital Financial Partners be afraid - very very afraid. I went on a viewing trip to Morocco with MRI and CFP charged me a fee for a mortgage, even though I decided not to buy. My friend tried to buy an appartment in Florida through MRI. CFP charged her a fee although they failed to get her a mortgage. And then because she withdrew from the purchase because she couldn't get the mortgage, she lost her reservation fee.

    Hi BarbaraG

If you paid by credit card you could always contact your company to see if there is anything they can do as far as returning your money. As for cfp I'm in the same boat as your friend here in Italy, promised everything but it turns out there wasn't any mortages to be had. You place money with some one like cfp because you are told by the likes of mri that they are reputable and indepentent?.  Good luck.

Re: MRI agency - any comments?

    Hi

I used MRI for my purchase in Cyprus, I came here to buy as a lifestyle change, and found them initially to be good.   Although I understood that I was paying prob over the odds I was looking for local knowledge.   I have to say that from a purchase point of view they seemed to have it spot on I have really happy with the village that I am in, but I have to say I had done a fair bit of research as to which area I wanted to be in.   They found me a very good builder who is very reputibable and I found price wise it worked out cheaper than some of the much better know developers who sell direct.

Where MRI let themselves down badly though is on there aftersale.   I have found it absolutely shocking.    My house was already built not an off plan and had to rent it for the first year which I entrusted MRI with.   The tenants did a runner after 6 months, which I had alert MRI too!   MRI didn't seem to have any sort of contacts for them.  MRI had also put the electric in my name not the tenants and I was stung with numerous bills.  I also had to go in and plaster and repaint the whole house after being told by MRI there was no problem.   When I went in to speak to the local office the fobbed me off and where completely uninterested.

I have to say that after having a good relationship with them at the beginning feel extremely let down by what happened after, and because of this would not under any circumstances use them again.

    Regards

     Anne
