Well we can blame him (C Blowne) for trying, the commission (if he gets it) has turned him into you a full blown sales agent! LOL!

Re: Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free

Well I bought the book a few months ago.........under the impression that at last I could get into the property game without any cash!! (Think I read that somewhere in the sales blurb!)...........well not the case, read the first few chapters and hey, he says this book is intended for those who have a bit of cash stashed or can raise it via remortgage/borrowing from the elderly!!! not a direct quote but you get the idea!!

I "had" to buy the book or I would miss the boat. I deliberately missed the boat by a week or so but still got my delivery within 3 days of paying. All sales tactics! The only ones benefiting from this type of thing is the people producing the books in the beginning (wish I'd thought of it..lol !!!)

Well, all I can say is I have found more info for free from the forums and people on SP than I did from reading this book or watching the video links sent to me by email. Just my opinion and maybe I missed something in the book...but I dont think so...

Re: Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free

Being an affiliate for someone elses products can have it's problem's and C. Browne, it appears you have found one here.

In my courses etc I always stress how important research is. Research your potential customers FIRST. Find out what the market is talking about and what the market is looking for. If you had done just a little here you may not be in defence mode.

Hey, it's tough selling on the net, but it can be a lot easier if you first find a demand for a product you are looking at promoting and then offer the product/solution.

Hard sell tactics are not what customers are looking for today. The Internet is changing and people promoting products are having to be much more transparent to the potential customers. Remember that most come to the net doing research, but, if they find something that offers all they are looking for then you have a chance of making a sale.

    FEATURES tell and BENEFITS sell.

    C. Browne, you may want to change how you approach potential customers when selling somebody else's product/s. While i am not knocking you fro having a go, I would suggest learning a how to "launch" your products. It takes a lot more than hard talk and aggressive techniques to get interest.

You must gain and build credibilty.

Re: Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free

    Hi Jane,

No I don't think you missed anything at all - in fact you summed it up really well.  I wonder how Andy Shaw's devotees who borrowed money from elderly relatives to fund the 15% deposits for BTL properties must be feeling now.  As recently as January this year he was advising the members on his website to buy properties that would require monthly subsidy of the rental as next year they would be able to remortgage and withdraw an extra 11.something% equity!

Instead of which of course many of them will find themselves stuck on their existing lender's SVR and that Gannie's 15% has vanished.

I was bought the book for Christmas along with a month's access to the website.  After reading the book I spent some time looking through the site and then posted a reply to one of Andy's trademark blog entries that are full of hot air and schoolboy economics.  My post disapeared after about 3 minutes and the friend that bought me the book received an email saying that my comments "were unwelcome in case they discouraged novice investors".

The whole set up of Andy, Greg and Passive Investments is one big marketing machine, which I suppose is not that surprising given they were a couple of double glazing salesmen (didn't quite admit to that in the book did he) that stumbled into property investment.

I had completely disregarded this lot until a couple of weeks ago I received the information on the free on-line videos that were being made available to "help a seriously ill little girl named Katie".   Turns out, unsurprisingly, that these "free" videos were just a teaser for a DVD course that is to be released next week!

The DVDs were filmed at a seminar that Andy held last summer which was attended by 30 people (who paid £5k each) and there are testimonials as to how great the seminar was from the attendees on the on-line sales material.   Like the seminar itself the DVDs will be launched as a "limited" offer in an on-line sale and only the lucky few will be able to buy.  How lucky is that.

Somewhat amusingly at the end of last week Andy realised that he had given away too much in the videos and that anyone with any sense would realise that there was no point in buying the DVDs (not that any of it is worth a row of beans anyway).  So a new video was added which explained why "if you had watched the free videos you really needed to get the DVDs".  For anyone else who received all this spam it's on the blog p=11   Watch it with the sound off (recommended with any of Andy's stuff; he is a dreadful presenter) and ask yourself if you would trust this man at all.

Like you say it's all sales tactics with the repeated method of making people believe that only the fortunate get the book, the DVDs, his off plan Cyprus investments (oh yes!) or attend his seminars.  And the constant message that only He "understands property" and that others like, inter alia, the Gov of the BOE, the chanc of the exchequer, prime minister and the head of the IMF don't understand property at all.

If anyone does feel the need to see these DVDs please please wait until later in the summer when they will be available on ebay for a tenner.

Re: Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free

I read the 6 free chapters yesterday and thought the book might be worth a read. However before I invest any more time or money in Money for nothing & your property for free. I'm just interested to hear from the real people (not affiliates) who have read it if they had put Andy's methods in to practice and recieved huge returns?

My other concern is that it might just be a big fat marketing scam for example:

Read 6 chapters for free but buy the book to find out more.

When you read the book you will need to buy the dvds to get more answers

And the dvd's tell you that you need to go on a course to know everything.

And before you know it you're £8k out of pocket with nothing in your asset column

Just interested to hear your feedback.

    Thanks

    VERY well summarised Phil !

I think that those concerns echo those of anyone looking seriously at what is on offer, particularly in view of the recent demise of Inside Track, who were offering almost identical "services".

Now let's see if some punters come back with evidence of the massive profits they have made with Andy's service. (EVIDENCE of real profits note, not empty bragging or speculation about profits so far not received).

Re: Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free

    Hiya,

It seems to me that I have tickled the interests of some of the members on this site, in regards to the book Money For Nothing & Your Property For Free.

Firstly let me inform you that neither you or anyone else have to buy the DVD's after the book, which does carry a guarantee money back if you don't like the book. So the book is of course a quick insight for you lot apart from the 5 chapters that lets you look for free.

Secondly should you or anyone else on this site buy the book, you get a 30 day free access trial to the forum with many of the members who have there pictures up on screen and have no quarrels about doing that will soon tell you how they got there and their inspirations in regards to property investing through Andy.

Thirdly, if you want to know about any of the members that are in there who have made massives amounts of profits through Andys services, blog it or ask Andy to send you the names and emails of the people who have gone through the Passive Route. The Passive Investment side I will not tell you about, that is for me to know and Andy & Greg to tell.

Fourth, From the feedbacks that I got from your Affliate area when I submitted my links to Andy came about firstly through Peter Parfaits site bless him, I really like his informative Propety Auction News that comes through my letter box every month, which spiralled me to Peter Jones and double bless these 2 gentlemen that spiralled me to a link from a bank would you believe that spiralled me to Andys Forum. Now that was quite a journey for one like me and to have a link from one of the best banks, they must hold Andy in high regards.

Fifth, I'm still and I will be honest with you, I have read and read Andys book, got into the forum, read mostly everything in there, used the tools that are a blessing for most of the members to use, indeed does work.

On a personal note I will not slam this site for the negative feedbacks that I have got from your affliate area, but only say I will respect your feedbacks with your honest opinions. I thank you all for even taking the time to take a peek at the links. Whilst I myself have been blessed to start from scratch in wanting to do property I found that research took a lot longer to do, but since buying the book I now do not have to research anything, Andy and Greg do all that for me, they tell me which is the best mortgages at the moment, they tell me why credit cards a good, they tell me how to go and speak to EA's, go and talk to builders, tell me what it would cost to refurb, how to tell me about valuers.  Heck who needs to research, you just follow the directions of the book, then read everything in the TOOLS section (which is an absolute must) and I even stress that to the newbies that have come in.  Pose a question to Andy or anyone on there.  Where to find a mortgage packager, which we have several. Where to remortgage and get your money back.  The Articles that Andy right in regards the Government and the banks are to keep the members informed of whats happening ie Credit Crunch.

Lastly but not least, as for Andy buying property and attaining the money from the elderly, yes he did get some of the funds from his mum and dad, aunty and uncle, friends, and a work employee, who happened to give Andy 40,000 with no questions asked, and what did Andy do? gave back with interest as well and led them all up the property lane, sitting on a great retirement fund, sadly uncle died, and his aunty died about 2 years ago. But he did give back with interest, he never left them in debt one iota. So you see Singing Pig members and all from where ever and from which ever denomination you come from or what ever your interests here take your fancy.  I will vouch for Andy and his services and his forum members that this is not a scam that you can slam only a reply to your blogs. I wish you all well. Prosper well tomorrow is another day and a new challenge. Never, never give up on your forsight to see wealth in property, tis a good road to take for anyone. I leave you all with is.

For an old man once told me, if SUCCESS you want to find, the clouds of doubt that bar your way are illusions of your mind.

Your FAILURES are your stepping stones that pave your way ahead. It takes COURAGE to walk along that road where the faint-hearted NEVER TREAD.

My good fortune behold you all. TTFN

Kind Regards C. Browne :-) wink
