Re: Newbie requires help with Affiliate Marketing

    Hi

Clickbank go through a verification process but I don't know if they actually look at the product itself (never been keen enough to check my logs to see!). They certainly check the sales page & the length of the guarantee.

Clickbank have pluses and minuses. Main plus is that it's pretty easy to be up and running selling your product with, potentially, thousands of affiliates. Main negative is from the affiliates viewpoint as it's easy to change the hoplink to yours rather than the person who introduced you to the product.

That said, it's quick & easy to use Google Cash or similar to drive products and test the water, maybe before designing your own product. So you haven't got weeks or months of grief only to find no-one wants to buy anyway.

Lists - I don't use any particular logic. Some of my lists have a daily message, others every 4 days, others weekly. If I was starting a new list from scratch, I'd personally use frequent messages (at least one every 4 days, which is AWeber's default) with as many as possible along the lines I described earlier. Tell 'em what they need to do, pitch 'em something that solves that.

For example (very short but should make the point):

In internet marketing, it's essential to keep in touch with your customers. You should get them to sign themselves onto a list, if necessary using an incentive such as a free report. Then you should regularly keep in touch with them using a mixture of pre-written messages sent out in sequence and topical messages that are sent to everyone on the list simultaneously.

One of the best ways I've found to do this is with an autoresponder service such as AWeber, which is probably the most reliable such service currently available.

    Trevor,

    Many thanks for your replies.

Very informative, your generous posts are very welcome. Big Smile

It seems when deciding on a new project, that you need to research and plan ahead.

    Some simple stages could be:

    1. Research keyword.

    2. Research chosen topic. Create original material, for e.g. info. product, report, articles, and email auto-responders. (this seems to be the time-consuming bit!)

    3. Market product.

    4. Test responses.

    Hi

    Good outline!

Yes, the info/original material can be time consuming. Or you can outsource it once you've started earning some cash. Rentacoder is a good place for articles & graphics. I've also used it to outsource complete ebooks. Just do the usual due diligence and check the feedback of the people quoting as well as samples of their work. Be prepared for the occasional "dog ate my homework" type excuse as well.

In terms of marketing the product, do your best to give affiliates lots of tools to market your product. Follow the example of people like Yanik Silver, who often gives complete emails as well as adverts, etc. Also take a leaf out of the "Get Google Ads Free" site. The product has been slated but it's doing very nicely on Clickbank, which will be a mixture of it's 75% payout and stacks of stuff for affiliates.

    Hi Trevor,

I've found a couple of other good sites for outsourcing articles:

    http://www.getafreelancer.com/

    http://www.elance.com/

I see that getgoogleadsfree gives a lot of stuff free like text and audio links, email copy, banner ads, articles, blogs, autoresponders, etc.
