    RE: WIN Investing LLP

I've never attended a Darren Winters seminar but I have seen footage of one through buying some videos off eBay.

It's all pretty straightforward stuff that he teaches, all of which is available in trading books, for free on the internet and on discussion forums such as www.trade2win.com

What I did notice from the footage of his seminars is that he had his friends in attendance mixed in with the paying customers. I assume they were there to pretend to be interested and ask certain pre-arranged questions.

Went to one of their free seminars last week, actually found it very interesting. I'm always very sceptical about these types of things but it really was worthwhile.

    Re: WIN Investing LLP

My experience with seminars property or shares is that the information is available in books and or discussion forums, however the speaker has taken the trouble to collate them and present them in a usable fashion saving time and effort

The most important thing is that the concepts used genuinely work unfortunately many do not present a usable system,

Before spending hundreds on courses read

David Dremans Contrarian Investing the next generation and

Trade your way to financial freedom by Van.K.Tharp

After this you will at least know how to check the systems validity and profitability

    Re: WIN Investing LLP

I would advise anyone thinking of spending money with Darren Winters and his organisation to seriously think again. They are a very slick selling machine that I have seen "live" and if anyone had taken their property invetsment advice 2 years ago, would be in serious trouble now. How they get away with it without being regulated by the FSA is a scandal.

I lost money signing up to their share trading service and when I complained about the heavy handed sales techiniques and asked for my money back they refused (on several ocassions). However I still get regularly emailed about further courses - in simple tems they are a shambles of a company, but Mr Winters is making a very pretty penny from it all. so my moles tell me.

The obvious question of "if he were that good at trading, wouldn't he be doing it full time" is one that you need to ask yourself. Those that can do, those that can't teach.

...and those that can't teach become consultants.

I have just won a court case against these people for misrepresentation under The Sale of Goods Act. I am now having problems getting the money which they have been instructed to pay back.

    Avoid these crooks!!!

    Re: RE: WIN Investing LLP

    Sanjay,

How long since you posted the cheque? Clottie is right, there is a 2 week cooling off period. This law doesn't apply if the contract was made in their own premises, but they generally hire out a conference hall and that does not count for the purposes of the law.

A family friend was mis-sold a property course at a WIN investing 'free property seminar' (read a high-pressure sales pitch appealing to the hopes and dreams of the unwary and employing a lot of NLP techniques). She coughed up 2 grand, and we had a job getting the money back for her. They tried to argue that the conference hall was their business premises, but as they only rented it by the day they couldn't make it stick, and we got her cash back. She also contacted CAB and I think the FSA who were extremely helpful. She also appeared on a TV programme exposing this company.

If for any reason we had not been refunded, I would have orchestrated a campaign of protesters outside, and infiltrated myself inside, to make it impossible for them to make any more sales in Bristol until the gave her a refund. I make far more friends than enemies, but I’m a very bad man to have as an enemy. I was almost disappointed when we got the cash back. I would have had a lot of fun heckling them with a few home-truths about their organisation, and I’m not worried about getting roughed up a bit as I’m a trained Thai boxer and MMA fighter.
