yes you are quite right you are not the lawyer! so apologies but the same applies.

you quote things out of context. get them right if you are going to quote me.

hope your other investments have been made wisely.......

    Re: Buy-Back Broken Promises

my investments are doing very well thanks as i managed to liquidate my position in property at the end of 2007 so was sitting pretty and safe when the crash came along.

it worries me that you have to tell me that you are a senior partner as titles mean nothing in todays world. what should have been more important is you advising people to invest into property deals that were safe and where their money was safe yet you seem to be a typical lawyer and only in it for the money and advise on anything that is seige mentality and take their cash, r2i, IT, MP and now this.

the same doesnt apply as my comments are all fact and all you are doing is trying to cash in on desperate people. i think it is disgusting you are doing so seeing as you have charged 1 to 2% conveyancing charge on 200 people which with my maths equates to about £750,000 for doing one proper peice of due dilligence and then checking all is in order for everyone else, as i pressume you didnt re check the title and planning for every deal? as that wouldn't have been necessary and now you are trying to charge more to help some of those people out that you missed.....

i have quoted everything in context but put the true light of day on it and not your sales spin...

    Re: Buy-Back Broken Promises

You said that my partners would have something to say about me always being on the blog, so I told you what I did.! Nothing more nothing less. I do not need to tell you what position I hold in life. If people like you did not say such irrelevancies then I would not have to waste my time with you. I am here to help people and not to fleece or any other term you would like to use about my job. After all I doubt whether you bought your investments without the assistance of a foreign lawyer.!

What I make out of it is not your business, so long as I provide valuable assistance to my clients. After all when you liquidated all your investments I am sure you did not broadcast it all over the world!. If I can provide a service to a class of people, with substantially more of a chance of recouping a sum of money then it has to be offered as a service.

I know you won't agree. so once again get a life and go to sleep. Good night!

Do you people realize that this is a public forum?  No way would any lawyer I know go on and on about such nonsense on a public forum in writing.

    Re: Buy-Back Broken Promises

I rarely post on this site for obvious reasons, but on this occasion I think a public forum will serve its purpose.

I gambled on this project a few years ago and instructed a law firm in the DR (Oficina Melo Guerrero) to carry out some due diligence.  I paid 3,000 GBP for this and they came up with the same thing MaxGold came up with when I initial signed for the property. (in other words things are kosher on paper).  The next step is assessing whether they are in breach of contract and recently about the interpretation of force majeure.  Donald Trump called the economic crisis force majeure so presumably it is a widely used delay tactic by property developers. (you can check my previous posts if you want to confirm my story)

The reason why I am sharing this is because I have never seen such unprofessional conduct by a solicitor (senior partner) at a prominent law firm.  Commenting about people's other investments and suggesting that they have made unwise decisions (and fear mongering) while people are obviously in distress is at the very least inconsiderate behavior.

The threatening emails that went back and forth between the developer and MaxGold has put an end to any cooperation from the developer on any front.  We can expect examination of public records for due diligence purposes while clarifications from the developer will not be forthcoming (as they clearly stated in their email).

I don't mind paying 300 pounds for some more information and another 300 for further action.  In fact, I was about to wire the funds.  Maxgold is our best chance to force the developer to move simply because it has access to a large number of investors.

After reading all the junk on this forum in the past few days, I do want Stefano to clarify the course of action his firm will take on this public forum.  Regardless of if the readers are all investors or not it will be helpful to many.

Under normal circumstances, there will be a letter of engagement (or service proposal as they call it in the DR) signed by the firm and the client that outlines what the client can expect from its representative.

I am interested in a timeline of action among other things.

When will the due diligence start?

What pieces of documents will be sourced?

How long do you envision this to take?

If everything is legitimate, what further actions would you take?

How long do you expect a court to hear our case? (From filing of case to hearing)

If there is discomfort sharing this information on a public forum (don't see why there will be) then please feel free to email me or send me a private message.

If any investor has sent MaxGold funds for further due diligence and action, I would urge you to expect something in writing from your representative as to what course of action you can expect from them for the money you are paying.

Lets try to raise the maturity level of this forum (even if it is temporary) for once....

    Re: Buy-Back Broken Promises

Well, it's all gone quiet on the Western Front.

Where's Adolf Mussolini, the UK's number one International Property LawyerNo.

What an absolute joke. Any solicitor of any standing would not get wrapped up in such name-calling on a blog site. His grammar is poor, punctuation awful, it's very difficult to believe that he is really an International Property Lawyer at all. His boasts of appearing on television..... big deal, so do the Muppets etc. He's not getting my money. i'd sooner use it to check up in the DR myself or listen to someone credible.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress?

Milos, do you have any pictures yet?
