""investment advice   .......   Because that seems to be pretty clearly what he is doing."

FSA does not cover BTL products.

Yes, you're right Clottie. I've checked and FSA does not cover property investment generally.

But Andy still needs to be very careful about the veracity of the claims he is making because the Department of Trade & Industry suffers from no such impedimenta. It can investigate any business any time.

It can also investigate claims made on websites if it chooses to do so. (And it will still be able to, even after Gordon changes its name ! Smile)

D.T.I. have been approached by many many folks with regard to, for example, Inside Track - but they seem to do nothing.

Re: Andy Shaw - gone to the dark side?

Yes, I think that is the standard modus operandi of bureaucrats throughout the UK !Sad  I am utterly convinced that this country would be a far better and more prosperous place if we got rid of half of them and employed them cutting verges and mending holes in the roads.

And I mean literally getting rid of half of them, and making the rest work properly for their inflated salaries and pensions. They wouldn't recognise a day's work if they tripped over it !

I worked with them for 20 years before setting up my own business, and most of them in senior positions couldn't hold down a proper management job anywhere other than in the public services.

But I think DTI is currently preoccupied with the building plot scam merchants - those who buy a field in the middle of nowhere, divide it into "plots" with a nice pretty coloured plan which includes an access road, and then sell these "plots" for 10-20 times their true value to mugs who don't know any better than to believe the VENDOR's assurances of its future development potential. (God, how stupid can people get ?!)

    Clottie,

The DTI are looking at Inside Track and are always interested to hear from people who have had the misfortune to have had dealings with the company.  Below are 3 links to recent articles about Inside Track - one being an adjudication by the ASA.

The more information that can be put on the internet to warn potential property investors the better.

Re: Andy Shaw - gone to the dark side?

    - Passive Investments is closely linked to the Money Gym
    - There are lots of examples where Money Gym customers are pointed in the direction of Passive Investments
    - To a new Money Gym customer, the connections between the following people wouldn't be obvious
    - The amount of web content collectively generated by this group of people is staggering

    - I have put a spreadsheet of who is involved in the following pdf http://www.tragicshamsa.com/pass.pdf

    - All the information presented is freely available on the web and i've only altered some of the text for clarity

    - The first page is of people connected with either Money Gym, Passive Investments. The second page lists some of the customers'.

    - Some of the purported figures / testimonials of passive investments are similar to those of a company called Goldstrike Properties, although its difficult to say who copied who. I'll be documenting those later.

Re: Andy Shaw - gone to the dark side?

    Dear Claire

I would rather see an accurate version of that document.  Please feel free to ask me to clarify any points and how any person is connected to the next.

For example my international opera singing sister Heather Cairncross is listed as someone as "involved" with Passive whereas she is a Passive client (just completed on the refinance of her first property)

You have totally left off my other sister Sarah, who is the editor of my ezine and who first introduced me to Passive, back in 2003, and who bought their current property "no money down" after learning the principles that we teach Money Gym clients, and that Passive have perfected.  Sarah's husband Nick, a long serving and high standing officer in the Royal Navy, is a Passive client, and who has just completed on the refinance of his first Passive property.

You also have Annie Kaszina listed, who is a Money Gym Coach, after having been an ex-client of the Money Gym.  She is an experienced property investor (over 12 properties) and has been since joining the Gym in 2003, and has just become a Passive client after many years of knowing about them, because she doesn't want to do all the sourcing, project managing etc., herself anymore.

However, next to Annie, you have a photograph of Chris Barrow, who is not, as far as I'm aware, a Passive client (yet) but who was my second ever business coach, after Rachel Turner, who is not listed yet and who is not, as far as I'm aware, a Passive client (yet).

LOL - I would think that, in your extensive research you would have been able to figure out that someone called Annie was probably not a bloke.  You can find pictures of Annie on her website.

I look forward to your further investigations and additions to this document.  I would just remind you though, to be very careful that you make sure of your facts before printing and distributing them.

     Regards

    Nicola

Oh, yes!  And you had better know that my brother Alex is coming home from Australia for 4 months soon, but he is not, as yet, a client of Passive. He will probably meet them though.

And my dad, Alex, lives in New Zealand, he's a property investor out there but he is not, and probably won't ever be, a client of Passive.  He did meet them a few times, while in the UK though.

    Cheers
