Hi Charles
Given the slump in the UK new build sector, here's fresh dynamic alternatives.
I have two pieces of land that might be of interest to you, for development -
250 ACRE WOODLAND WITH RIVER£300K Freehold - Deed held by untraded offshore Corporate (Delaware USA)
Blue Mountain - Pictou County - Nova Scotia - Canada.
Well featured with brooks, small lake, mile of fishing riverbanks and substantial trails. Serviced by year round road that runs parallel to the river, dividing the land into 26 acres on one side, and 224 on the other.
Five towns and ocean - 20 mins. 30 beaches and 3 Ski Resorts within 250 mins. International Airport 85 mins (UK 6hrs - Iceland 3hrs) - Capital city 215 mins. New Transcanada Trail to be finished by 2010 and the longest hiking, biking, riding facility of it's kind in the World, swings by not far from the property.
Local Council happy to accept proposals for Eco-Village and Adventure Biking Centre - but virtually anything goes. A Winter Village for Icelandics would be a hot potential.
100 ACRE WOODLAND WITH 4 ACRE LAKE & LARGE HOUSE£249K Freehold - Deed held by untraded offshore Corporate (Delaware USA)Greenland - Nova Scotia - Canada
The house is located at the roadside with a two acre field alongside and the land extended over one and a half miles deep with a truck wide trail running it it's entire length. The four acre lake is threequarters the way in.
Two Towns, Ferry to New Brunswick and Bay of Fundy 15 mins. Ferry to Maine USA 75 mins. International Airport 150 mins (UK 6hrs - Iceland 3hrs) - Capital City 150 mins.
Local Council happy to accept proposals for 30+ Cabin Eco-Village but virtually anything entertained.
Notes;
Skilled Labour is less than half of that in the UK, planning is very easy and construction, given timber frame makes up around 95% of the structures in the Province, is very fast - these can be prefabricated in an industrial unit on or off site. The new self-contained sewage incineration/hot water systems now available, means that the house units could be self-contained and simply parked on feet, anywhere, giving total cost control according to demand.
Brits, US & Icelandics can visit Canada for upto six months at a time without need of a visa, and also own properties and businesses there, exactly the same as Canadians. There's also cheap plentiful cheap flights off season. Main language - English - 82% British descent.
Best wishes
Peter Hughes
