    Choices and Ready2Invest

Does anyone know much about Choices or Ready2Invest?

I have some money to invest and I'm trying to find the best company to invest with for short-term returns (ie I want to double my investment of £60k in 12-18 months). The best way for this would seem to buy BMV and sell on quickly.

Choices seem good, but I don't know much about them apart from what they've told me and what I've seen on their website. They offer properties with 20-25% discount (apparently), you pay them a 2.5% fee for each property you buy from them, and also £1500+VAT up front when you register, and then another £30 per month service fee. For that you would get assigned your own personal advisor who works with you to achieve your goals. Apparently. Does anyone have any experience of them? I like the idea of having a personal advisor (I need a mentor!), and if it was good I don't think the money's too much to spend, but as I say I don't know if they're any good or not.

Another company that seems pretty good is Ready2Invest, although this seems like longer term investment opportunities. Has anyone ever invested with them? How did it go?

    Thanks for any advice!

    Re: Choices and Ready2Invest

Beware! Ensure you do your own independent research into the viability of any proposition made by such organisations. Have you fed their names into the search engine here to see what others have said in the past? Don't forget that a lot of property investors are feeling the pinch at the moment as they have bought properties with "discounts" based on claimed rental forecasts, discovered that the rentals are, in practice not sustainable, defaulted on their huge mortgages as a result and then, when the properties are disposed of at auction found that they reach little more than 50% or their original "discounted" price!

    As I said earlier: BEWARE!

    Re: Choices and Ready2Invest

all property investment is a risk, you have to decide how much risk you a prepared to take.

how that risk can be minimised by giving away what is 2.5% of your capital up front and another 2.5% of each deal does not a make a great deal of sense to me.

having £60K to invest, I would look at small scale development, with a couple of partners who are interested in that area, you could double your investment in 12 months if you find the right opportunity.

    Re: Choices and Ready2Invest

There was a thread on here or another forum a while ago,  the jist of which was,  dont touch em.

I agree with the others, you dont need to deal with these sort of outfits.

The answer as always is read EVERY post on singing pig and some other forums

It will take you a while, but having done it you will be much better informed and able to make more rational judgements about what it is you really want to do.

    Best of luck to you,

    Re: Choices and Ready2Invest

I am sure by now you have already decided to forget using Choices.

As I live fairly close to them, I and a friend, decided to attend one of their property investment seminars so see what they were offering, maybe to glean one or two ideas from them, if not to invest in Choices themselves.

I have to say it was a pretty disapointing seminar, in fact we were both bored rigid as Choices trawled out the usual "property makes you rich" type information in monolog mixed with a load of what seemed bull** about due diligence. Even the promised lunch did not materialise which was a double insult as far as we were concerned. We soon realised that most of the so called bargain properties they offer could be found direct from auctioneers lists and the mentoring service of a personal advisor consisted of being allocated a wet behind the ears kid that lived in a rented flat, not the sort of experienced property mentor that could offer any real assistance.

At the end of the seminar, there was a stampede for the exit door and only about 3 people remained to talk on a one to one basis with their prospective "advisor"!  How they allocate the so called BMV properties between their clients is the crux of the matter, chances are all the wet advisors are trying to get their clients to invest in whatever opportunities they have to ply and if by chance, there was a real good one, it would probably have been given over to another investor. But Choices do ask you what you are looking for.....and then they say they can find it for you.

    Hi Pani,

Let's just say I wish I'd known about this forum before I parted with money to Ready2Invest.

With regard to R2I, as P.P. says says use the search facility. We'd all like to double our money in 6 months - especially in the current market !. Also, do a search on the Streetwise forum. From the information in the public domain it would seem they have yet to return a profit on any of their deals - despite their big posters on the London underground !.
