    MIDAS International Property Developers PLC

I am meeting with this company in a few days and have initially heard good reports about them. Has anyone ever dealt with them, or know anything about them and can provide some feedback?

    Thanks

Re: MIDAS International Property Developers PLC

    Hello there,

Yes, we have had investment dealings with them but not bought any property from them.  We signed up for one of their 25% interest pa investment schemes last December.  We have received our Quarter 1,2 & 3 payments from them (sometimes a couple of days, and once a couple of weeks late, but received nevertheless) and intend re-investing with them for another twelve months in December.

Seem helpful enough on the telephone but never met them personally (we're in N East) but we are aware they are a relatively new company.

There is another thread on this site somewhere entitiled 'Turkey' I think which has a couple of people discussing them at a bit more length.  If you search the site on 'Midas' it should find the thread.

Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for the info which has arrived at a very opportune moment.

I have had one of the Midas agreements here for the last few days and i have been debating whether or not to return it.Your experience is reassuring because  a guarantee of 25% increase in an initial investment over 12 months is very generous. In fact,it is probably about the best short term investment i can think of.

I will probably take the plunge though would ideally like to have met with them first but i am in the North as well.I have also requested details of their forthcoming properties in Morocco which seem remarkably good value. Are you aware of anyone who has actually purchased a property from them?

This may well be a perfectly legitimate outfit, although it appears far too good to be true.

There have been numerous that run like this: investors are tempted in with the promise of high returns; they invest a little money and all goes well and they are paid on time; feeling more confident investors then hand over a much bigger sum; guess what? the company and their money disappear off the face of the earth. It's a brilliant con and more often than not it works, although I'm not for a moment suggesting this is what Midas is doing, but I'd be very wary of big promises.

For more on Midas' track record read the very long thread on their earlier incarnation - "Barfa Sim", which promised the earth and delivered zilch.

One thing I would say is that if an investment is really good there is no need to guarantee returns because the properties should be easy to sell anyway.

Thanks for all your replies. I have met with them and they seem genuine and very decent. They are members of AIPP, which reassures too.

I am now going through the contracts and am still to make a decision.

    Thanks one again

    Twitchers / Bradley,

One thing that I should have asked on my post of last night; have either of you had your solicitors take a good look over the contracts? If the answer was yes, what were the thoughts of the professionals.

    Best Regards
