    Not impressed with cashflowclub.co.uk

I was unpleasantly surprised when I came across the cashflow club website: www.cashflowclub.co.uk This is per game! Cost: Members* - 5 & Guests - 10 *Standard Membership 20 I'm not impressed by this! Charging for a game! Martin

My aim is to be financially free by 30. I am currently 23.

I would agree with you there Martin. Then again, the game is expensive and hard to find locally. Not everyone knows about the pigs who would gladly invite you for a free game and someone is creating a business opportunity. Good for them! I just wonder what the Richdad co will think of that and whether there are any copyright laws being breeched. How far will they go to protect their intellectual property Morgan

Im not sure that its too bad. One can spend a fair bit down the local sports centre playing games or swimming eg I have friends with their own pool but I still go and pay at the town pool and is 10 really that much for an evening out. To me it seem like a bit of entrepreneurship which I thought RK was all about.

Hmmm. RK's all for entrepreneurship but not so close to home! Given that he got his fingers burned not patenting velcro wallets he does seem to be a bit touchy about intellectual property ... Mind you, it seems reasonable enough to me, although I wouldn't pay it as I have played for free with friends. Cheers, Leanne

Yeah, I completely agree with you Martin. So thats why, I am going to try and start to meet up with people from the Singing Pig Forum and play at some local pub. I think like that its much better!

Good luck. It can work that way.

Imagine if you paid £20 for the year and played, say, 6 times in the year. That's £20 + 6x£5, which I make £50 for the year.

Have you spebt £50 in one weekend on having a few laffs with mates? I probably have. Didn't make me wealthy.

If your goal is like Martin's ("My aim is to be financially free by 30. I am currently 23." ) and that year is productive in the pursuit of your goal, then £50 would be a negligible investment. Lots of laffs would then ensue, all paid for by income thrown off by your assets. Just a thought.

I like free stuff too, and "free" can still have "value". But I think you *can* take thriftiness too far, ending up a bit of a tight-wad in the wrong direction and not seeing the more important picture.

    Respectfully,

    -James.

P.s. My declaration of interest: I know the folks who run cashflowclub.co.uk and have respect for them and what they are about. I expect to be paying them a few quid for the opportunity to join in the game one weekend soon.

    RE: Not impressed with cashflowclub.co.uk

    P.s. here's some news regarding cashflowclub.co.uk:-

"To play it's free for members (20 annual membership) and 5 for guest."

I got this form a recent post in the cashflow Meets forum thread.

    Negligible.

    RE: Not impressed with cashflowclub.co.uk

I do not see that cashflowclub.co.uk are asking too much for a game - they probably have to cover the cost of using the venue.

Nevertheless, if you would like to play for free, in a comfortable and luxurious environment overlooking the river Thames, then join me and friends on the 6th floor of the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank, Waterloo, from 2pm on Sunday 30th March. We ran a very successful series of games from January through March 2002, and only stopped because my day-job took me away from London for the rest of the year. But now I'm back! And so is the game.

Email me: cashflow@egunjobi.com or phone 07801 813 597 to confirm that you will be joining us on Sunday 30th March 2003.
