How much income do you make from home?

As i have said in a previous thread i want to start an ebay business as i want to work from home after having my children. Im also looking for other work at home opportunites.

How much can iexpect to make from working at home? Can it be a livable amount of cash? Or am i best to just get a normal paid job in my town?

How much income do you make if you work from home?

Re: How much income do you make from home?

    Hi

Like all other "work" it depends what effort you're prepared to put in.

I've got a number of web sites that I guess could be called "work from home" and let's just say that the cash they deliver versus the amount of effort initially put in is quite pleasant.

Choose something you enjoy doing, that way you're more likely to do it & will put more effort in. If it's a hard slog then most people will put the work off.

Don't expect instant results. Especially with the internet. Even an Ebay auction takes a bit of time.

Read up on good direct mail books - the internet is essentially an online version of direct mail and responds much the same way. It's no coincidence that people like Yanik Silver have modelled the mail order greats after reading and rereading their material.

Ebay certainly works with headlines - it's the title you read before deciding whether or not to click on the auction.

Google AdWords are essentially mail order classified ads turned hi-tech.

Trial lots. And then trial/test again.

Fail fast (if it doesn't work quickly, cut your losses, try something else to sell).

Remember the web is also a very "public" medium so that anything successful will generate competition fast. So be prepared to do the same as McDonalds did - create new things faster than the competition can copy them.

Remember also that working from home can be quite isolated. Figure out whether or not your personality is cut out for that.

And ideally start with an idea of an exit point - don't build something that relies on you as that's more difficult to sell on. Michael Gerber's E-myth would be a good place to read up on that.

    Good luck!

    Trevor

BlueAngel I agree with Trevor on the isolation side of things. I read an article once that likened it to Cabin Fever. I have worked in offices for most of my life and the one thing that I first missed was the banter and interaction of colleagues. I now don't miss it at all but it took some getting used to. I wish you well but the hardest part is choosing what you actually want to do. There are loads of Business Opp's but again some will take years of hard work and dedication before you show a reasonable income. Do not fall for the get rich quick schemes they will cost you money fast.

    Blueangel asks specifically for "amount".

It will be interesting to see how many of the readers of this forum  are willing to put a true figure on this.

Blueangel I personally have been in mlm since oct 2004 and after costs usually make in the region of £200 to £350 per month, that is with a fulltime job as well, so to me its a nice addition. this figure is slowly growing as my team builds.

Just yesterday I invested £100 split between two seperate HYIP's and will keep the singing pig comunity informed as to how this develops. reading all the hype about these programs, the £100 barring any major problems should be sufficient to grow into a sizeable amount if constantly re-invested.

EVERYONE who puts effort into this mlm WILL make money, the more effort you put in, the more money you make.

Optimistic Hunter, just curious, does your MLM opportunity involve catalogues and letterboxes? ;)

I don't think anyone really wants to put an actual figure on it. Would you like to tell a complete bunch of strangers how much you earn? In the world of ML/NM it's always someone else that someone knows who is making the big money. BlueAngel you found anything you like yet?
